Welcome Our New Chefs!

Chef Spaulding and Chef Reiss

We are pleased to announce the welcoming of Executive Chef Ryne Spaulding and Sous Chef Jason Reiss to our Honesdale Golf Club Family! Our new chefs both share a vision for creating a seasonally focused menu which highlights the best of what Honesdale has to offer to our members! Our new menu will include some of our favorites and debut new dishes to satisfy everyone's palate from entree to dessert, like we never have seen before!

Chef Spaulding, a native of Honesdale, is a talented culinary professional with over 15 years of experience. As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, he continues to spend many years of service as the director of food services at The Nutrition Group. His past experience includes executive chef at Woodloch Springs Country Club and operating his own catering company, Soigne Food Service, LLC. He combines his classical training in a "dining experience" with his wealth of knowledge in food service management. Chef Spaulding will be designing our new menus, assisting in the day-to-day management of our Hospitality Team, serving the members as executive chef for all major golf tournaments and special dinners, as well as design an entire new dining experience for our members and their guests.

Chef Reiss, who moved to the area many years ago - now residing in Honesdale, comes to us with a wealth of experience in the culinary arts. Chef Reiss will be working alongside Chef Spaulding to enhance our member dining experience. As a graduate of Lackawanna College of Culinary Arts, Chef Reiss strives for perfection in every entree he prepares. He has led as chef at Woodloch Pines, University of Scranton, and Skytop Lodge and Golf Resort. Chef Reiss will be in charge of our day to day operations of food services, and be preparing our wonderful future menu entrees! He knows what it takes to create special and memorable meals for our members and he prides himself on his kitchen management skills. He will be joining our family next week, as he finishes his current employment obligation.

When Chef Spaulding and Chef Reiss are not stirring up excitement in the kitchen, they enjoy residence in Honesdale with their families.

We plan to host a soft opening at the end of April in our newly rebranded "Sandtrap Bar and Grille" and "1901 Club". Our goal is to have both the bar and dining room open daily for lunch and dinner. We hope that the new hospitality team will lead us to a new experience that will bring our club to a new level!

The new menu will be available at the end of the month, as we transition forward.
